Next weekend I am hosting a baby shower here at the house. Since it is fall....my theme is pumpkins.
This will be the guest book area.
This is how my day started out. Cleaning!
This sewing machine cabinet, was what I thought was a great find off of Craigslist. I was so thrilled..the sewing machine inside had the special ruffler attachment.
Once home...it did not work. The repair estimate was for more than a new machine. Mister Misterremoved the broken machine and painted the cabinet white for me.
I then added fabric and jute trim to the faux drawers. Now just an accent piece.
Making lemonade out of lemons....
that's what it's all about!
I have had this sweet chair forever.
One of my most favorite pieces.
I am still not finished with the framed burlap.
Thinking of stenciling "Welcome" over the top
of the smaller frame.
The day of the shower....I need to think of something clever to replace the 31.....any ideas?
The vintage screen door and awning have been outside all summer. It was a great back drop for our shade garden area.
See you again in the Spring.
Please visit the parties listed here and in my sidebar join in the fun....

I love your display! Maybe the babys due date in the frame? The pearls on the pumpkins are awesome. The ruffler attachment can be a girls best friend:) Love mine.
ReplyDeleteWOWZA!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic vignette!!
All the elements look perfect together!!
Stunning!!
Hugs,
Debbie
My hat!! I am so impressed with your display!!! You are so very creative and it is quite simply gorgeous!!! What a party this is going to be and i for one can't wait to see what else you will be doing. I think a photo of the mum or as Sandy said the due date will be great for the frame. Love the colours you used and the awning adds so much to the display. You are very talented.

Hi Bobbie -
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower of your blog and I have awarded you the Versatile Blogger Award. You are so incredibly creative - I couldn't even imagine coming up with many of your projects. The baby shower display is amazing - the soon-to-be mom is a very lucky lady!! Please stop by my blog(http://salvagedwhimsy.blogspot.com/) to get the details on your award....thanks, Erin
Maybe You could take a small white pumpkin and paint a baby's face on it, wrap it in a baby blanket and display it in the basket where you have the 31. Love how you decorate!! Helen Loflin
ReplyDeleteYou could replace the "31" with a wolverine! You could paint it sparkly white so it will fit with the other decor ;-)
ReplyDeleteI know this idea will sound absolutely absurd to people who are not familiar with the parents to be, but before they picked out a name, they referred to the baby as "little wolverine".
Whoa!! I am blown away by all this loveliness!! You are so talented and I'd love to see more of your decorating! How about removing the '3' and adding the words, 'little' --- i.e. little one :)

Adorable! I love all the different textures and heights! Ther's so much to look at, and yet it all blends so perfectly. Great ideas!! You have done a wonderful job, and I'm sure the new mom will be delighted with it! The 31 could be replaced with a simple old-fashioned baby carriage silhouette perhaps...
