Freedom

'cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away.
And I'm Proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land..
God Bless The USA!

My "OWN" Oprah Moment

No, I did not attend a taping of the Oprah Winfrey Show, I watched from my living room like millions of others.  I have been watching her half my life and since before my daughter was born ...who now has a daughter of her own.

My own Oprah moment came this past fall when I posted a comment on Oprah's website and they posted it, along with many more.  I was thrilled!
She was in the mist of
  The Color Purple reunion show.
I was stunned to see that it had been posted and look,
today when I decided to see if I could still find it on Oprah's website it was posted next to none other than
Nate!  This was my comment.....

Although I would have loved to see a live taping
of  "Oprah",  I will forever be grateful for her daily
lessons.  Her life has been a great blessing to many, and I am one who has learned much from her presence.  Today was her last show...and Wow...She had a great guest on today...herself....
Thank you Miss Oprah
 I can't wait to see what's next.
Life is good.

Bobbie

Put a Fork in it...I found them!

Finally  found my fork and spoon artwork.....
I have had this tear out forever.  I know , I know
this fad has been around for some time.  Well,
it just made it to my kitchen...this the 24th day of May, 2011.

I have a small window area over my kitchen sink.
I have searched and searched for something to go on either side.  Can't count the number of times I have called my husband to "re" measure that area to see if what I have found would fit in the area.
Obviously, it doesn't take much to excite me.....

Finding the fun fork and spoon artwork today at:
The Family Dollar Store...yes, I said The Family Dollar Store!
Made me a little giddy and put the biggest smile on my face..
Perfect size and the right price.
$10.00 for the pair vs. the $217.oo per piece
in the above tearout!  Yes, those featured in the magazine
measure so much larger...but to large for my kitchen area.

Being a lover of antiquing....everything!
The new found artwork didn't seem distressed enough...
so taking my Distress Ink Pad I went to work on the edges and around the fork and spoon.

Adding just enough ink around the fork and then later the spoon.
I think it makes a world of difference and creates the illusion
that the fork sets up higher on the canvas.

Perfect size.....Love it!!!
Next ......an awning and hanging of the new chandelier.

Wedding Bliss

Two years ago our daughter
Savannah married her prince charming, Robby.
That started a new found love for vintage wedding toppers.   My collection is small but I always enjoy bringing them out for bridal showers and this my special photo message to the happy couple.
The Wedding Topper on the far right is my favorite..
and believe it or not, that one was found in a
thrift store grab bag!

The silver tray is just one of many I collected for the wedding reception.
Vintage trays, old lace table cloths and chandeliers hung from the beams in the old barn where the reception was held.
How did two years fly by so fast....
Life is good.

Bobbie

Birthday Treasury Shadow Box Swap

Amy at Inspire Co. has graciously let me join in her
latest swap.  I am so excited that my swap friend is Valarie at Glittery Daze and Nights!! Check out her wonderful blog...so much to see and fall in love with.  Read on for details on how you can join too!

Birthday Treasury Swap!

Amy posted this fun information:
This Birthday Treasury Shadowbox is a project in the current issue of Inspired Ideas. I had sO mUcH fun making it! So much, in fact, that I want you to make one too. And share it! What do you say to a birthday treasury swap! Won't that be fabulous?

You in?

I created a fun and quick questionnaire for you to fill out so that I can pair you with the best possible match, someone who likes the same sort of stuff you do and who will absolutely love the shadowbox you create for her. Isn't that the best kind of swap?
