There's a New.......In Town.

Yesterday when mister mister and I were going to our small town hardware store...for more spray paint ...of course.

I noticed a sign...a Thrift Store sign...stop...put the brakes on...turn this car around...
only to find it was closed on Mondays.
Today I went back to support the new business in understand...I'm sure.

The vintage bird above still had the
original "T G & Y" price tag on it.....$1.19.

Loving this sweet vintage ceramic planter...what
you can't see is her darling little dutch shoes.

This Rowe Pottery piece also a great find.

The vintage Lugene's  ceramic
Owl planter is going to be a great little
surprise for my daughter. She loves..vintage..owls..and anything green!

Total fun today $8.00....priceless!
Can't wait until my next visit never know what you'll find in a small town!!

Coffee Filter Lamp Shade

Burlap,  Coffee and Pearls!

I have wanted to do something creative with coffee filters forever.  I decided on a lamp shade.
Love the color of the natural coffee filters.
They're instant tea staining necessary.
Once I started to play with the paper filters...the lamp shade form took on a tuxedo look.
Reminded me of my prom dates shirt.
Way back when...ruffles down the front of the men's shirts were the thing!

I placed a thin piece of burlap down the center of the coffee filters...I really like the texture it added.
I then added pearls down the center
and around the bottom edge.

When I first started working on this project, I was certain it was going to be a hanging lamp.
I only used the floor lamp because it made it so much easier to apply the coffee filters to the shade frame.

After completing the shade,
I'm not sure.  It might have found a home on the floor lamp.
Safety first....
Because this shade is made of paper
I have used a low wattage bulb  and will only turn on when I'm home.
